The use of paints or ink creates a world where the elements become a microcosm of entities and beings in perpetual movement. The delicate brushstrokes are fluid and vibrant. The luminous colours transcend space, showing energies resonating with an ease of movement that I lost long ago due to my disability. My work draws from a vitality deep within.
Using automatism to ritually co-create with familial spirits, each mark made has its place within the work, each one honoured and integrated even though they are rapidly and unconsciously laid down. This approach parallels the transcendental nature of allowing ourselves to accept the totality of human experience.
